Settling into the season: what's news for Confluence in November

November 2025

When my son was really little, a high school bestie, Xing reminded me that, when raising children- the days are long but the years are short. Wiser words, I've not heard.

My bonus son turned 19 yesterday, and it has me thinking about all the times I wished for time to move faster for myself as a person and parent. I reminisce about the moments when I thought truth or love or life was just across the next horizon.

For me today, growing up means settling into what is-

  • there will be enough time, if we remember to be here now;
  • the people we love will surely leave us, so honor our relationships for the time we have them;
  • being real is better than being right.

I have been so fortunate to live to see 42 (helllooo, Sagittarius season). This year in particular, I have been in spaces and places where I can spiral back around to past lessons I've lived. At each step, I have the incredible opportunity to forgive myself, feel what it means to be here now, and re-commit to my relations.

Curious about how Confluence can support you and the work you're doing? Have feedback or just want to check in?

up to & offering

Here's the short list of Offerings. I look forward to collaborating in shared space with you soon.

If you have someone in your world that could benefit from one or more of these spaces or activities, please share with them! All my best referrals come from the cool kids I already know.

Beth Tener will be joining the New Leaders Network in December for a Resonant Listening workshop. Resonant Listening explores how to listen and respond in ways where people feel resonance, which is feeling that the listener really heard us and is "with us." It's fundamental to creating connection, trust, and thinking well together.

When a group of people listen with resonance to one person's story, it allows the tangle of thoughts, emotions, and layers of complexities to be pulled apart. Instead of one person holding it alone, the challenge is held in a much larger container of a group, who can sense more of the dynamics of a situation.

We'd love to have you join us! Membership is sliding scale. You pay once and have access for the lifecycle of the network.

Not ready to be a member but still want to access this Grow circle? Grab your ticket to "Resonant Listening Workshop" here. There are only 10 tickets available for this workshop!

on the calendar

There isn't as much happening in December, most likely because of the holidays. Please take time to rest, restore, enjoy the things you love.

The call to fund a cross-movement, multilingual infrastructure for justice is here! Join Resonance Network and Jamii Linguists as they co-create in-person governance labs and simultaneous interpreting clinic. If you are a funder or have philanthropic friends, please share to get this work from imagination to experience.

Never Use Alone seeks hotline volunteers

Never Use Alone is the US National Overdose Response line that people can call when they're using by themselves with no one to call for help. Volunteer operators take location information, remain on the call, and notify EMS to a location if a caller stops responding after using. All operators are people with lived experience. If you would like to support this life-saving effort, check out the details and apply.

These will be updated monthly. If you have a need that folks can help with virtually, email them to me (with links!) by the first Friday of each month.
